A catch-all email mailbox is one that gathers all the messages sent to inactive email addresses. For instance, if your email address is firstname.lastname@example.org, but somebody miswrites it and sends an email message to email@example.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Just one mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and thus you’ll never miss emails because the other side has an outdated email address or has made a spelling mistake. The negative aspect of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving a lot of spam email messages, but this issue can be fixed using anti-spam protection software. It’s also crucial to know that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot forward inbound emails to a third-party address.
